Subscriber Webinar: An Introduction to the Political Theory of Eric Voegelin
I’m pleased to announce another webinar exclusively for paid subscribers.
On Thursday, October 27th at 2pm ET, Dr. Benjamin Mabry will give a brief introduction to the work of the influential but often misinterpreted German-American political philosopher Eric Voegelin. Voegelin is perhaps most famous for the phrase “immanentizing the eschaton.”
Voegelin also wrote about Puritanism as a recurring mode in human society, so this webinar will be relevant to my recent post about the role of Puritans vs. Quakers and what that really means.
Benjamin Mabry received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2015. He taught at Louisiana Christian University for five years and is now on faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College.
It’s worth noting that Voegelin was based at LSU, and Mabry studied under one of Voegelin’s former students. So he is deeply versed in Voegelin’s work and the Voegelin tradition.
