There is a part of me that still really kind of believes the Traditional Latin Mass suppression has more to do with the threat of enrolling more conservatives priests than anything else... the WSJ sort of surprises me, but kind of doesn't.
Aaron is exactly right about wives respecting their husbands. Ephesians 5:33 says, “Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” God gives each one of the sexes the harder thing to do for them. For men it’s loving their wives, for wives it’s respecting their husbands. This doesn’t mean that husbands shouldn’t respect their wives or wives shouldn’t love their husbands, but men more easily gravitate toward respect and women towards love. If a wife loses respect for her husband then separation and divorce are usually not far behind. Churches need to teach not only men to love their wives, but wives to respect their husbands.
